Police Raid a popular pool hall after it is revealed that their popularity is not due to the great atmosphere, but the illegal Slot Machines.
An undercover investigation revealed that the slot machines at the Murphy's Brass Rail pool hall were giving out cash payments which are illegal in Georgia. The undercover officer said that it was not uncommon to see people winning hundred dollar jackpots and even jackpots of over $1,000.
The police raided the bar just after 12:30 on Sunday. No arrests were made at the time, but 6 slot machines were confiscated. The police also confiscated $10,000 in cash.
The pool hall’s owner’s home was also raided and police confiscated more cash.
Prosecutors and the police are trying to figure out who can be charged and with what.
The lead investigator is expected to appear before a judge and ask for an arrest warrant for the pool halls owner and at least one other unnamed person.
The police have said that the employees of the pool hall involved with the food and beverage service and maintaining the pool tables will definitely not be charged with any crimes.
Police have said that they are currently investigating several other possible illegal gambling operations in the area.
