Blackjack Tips to Help Improve your Game
Blackjack is a game that favors the dealer over the player: if the player and the dealer both go over 21 the player looses and since the dealer works for the house the dealer wins. Here are some of the best blackjack tips I have been able to put together over the past few years.
- The Blackjack table you pick should have a minimum of no more then 5% of your total bank. Consider all your rule variation options like doubling down and that the dealer needs to stay on 17.
- Keep it simple: the Blackjack dealer has to take a card if his hand is less then 16, so if you have a 17 you can't win unless the dealer busts so if the dealer is showing any card above an 8 the player should hit. The opposite is true if the Blackjack dealer is showing a 4, 5 or 6 these are cards that can lead the dealer to bust.
- The best advantage the player has in Blackjack is the option to double down. This refers to doubling your bet and receiving one last card. This should be done if you think you can win. A player should double if the rules permit when the player has a 10 against the dealers 9 or lower and with a hand of 1. Double with a 9 or any soft hand of 13-17 against the dealers 4, 5 or 6.
- If you receive 2 cards of the same value you can split them. In Blackjack this refers to making the one hand into 2 separate hands. This allows you to play 2 hands and doubles your chances of winning. A player should always split aces but never split face cards tens or fives.
- Always tip the Blackjack dealer. They do not get a cut of the action. They work for an hourly wage and to give them a dollar every 20 hands or so is generally appropriate. This will insure the dealer will look out for your best interests and if you put his tip in front of the betting circle this turns his tip into a bet so if you win his tip doubles. The dealer will not cheat to help you win but he may make suggestions or help in any other way possible.
Good luck with these Blackjack tips. I hope they do as well for you as they have for me.
