Red Dog poker is played at a table the resembles a Blackjack table more then it does a Poker table.

Two cards are dealt to each player. The card with the lower value is placed on the left side and the higher card on the right. The player now has the option the bet on whether the 3rd card will be of a value between the first 2 cards or fold his hand. This is called the spread. The spread is the distance between the first 2 cards. If you are dealt a 3 and an 8 the spread would be 5. The lower the spread the higher the payoff you can win. You will win more money for betting on a spread of 3 then a spread of 10.

In most card game face cards are worth the same but in Red Dog Poker each face card has a different value. The Jack is 11, the Queen is 12, the King is 13 and an Ace is 14.

If on the draw a player gets 2 cards of the same value the hand is a push, but a 3rd card is still dealt. If the 3rd card is also the same the player wins 36 times whatever was bet.
